As one of the world’s most expensive cities to live in, London has a serious low-cost housing problem, but one architecture firm offers a potential solution with this neat micro-house disguised as an air vent.
Realizing that local laws include a loophole for mechanical rooftop equipment to be installed without planning permission, local firm PUP Architects constructed the micro-house with the help of volunteers, carpenters and structural engineers.

The two-story shelter is called H-VAC after the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units you see on many commercial buildings.

The exterior is clad food and drink packaging. We’re not sure how much protection this offers from the cold but it looks very unique.
