Build Tiny’s latest model, the Millennial Tiny House, has a unique interior that features some really interesting ideas to make the diminutive towable dwelling feel larger than it is. Able to run on or off-the-grid, its most novel feature is a neat retractable staircase.
The Millennial Tiny House measures 7.2 x 2.4 m (23 x 7.8 ft) and is clad in faux-cedar and steel. It comprises a steel frame.
Inside, the tiny home’s “great room” features large underfloor storage, with a bathroom and a kitchen either side. The kitchen includes full-size appliances and the bathroom has a shower, sink, laundry room and composting toilet.
A retractable staircase made is pulled out from the wall locks into position to offer access to the sleeping loft above. Over by the kitchen, an integrated ladder provides access to a home office.
The office includes a built-in desk attached and a footwell so that users can sit comfortably.
The Millennial Tiny House comes in three different price points. It can be bought as a shell for those who want to save some money by building it themselves or as a ready to move in home. The turnkey option costs NZD120,500 (US$86,700), not including a solar power off-grid setup, which is extra.
