There’s downsizing and then there’s taking small living to the extreme. The latter is definitely the case with the Wide Path Camper: a tiny trailer for two that’s towed by bicycle.
Designed by Denmark’s Mads Johannsen, the Wide Path Camper weighs in at just 45 kg (99 lb). Its length varies between 99 x 130 cm (39 x 51 in) when being towed, and 99 x 260 cm (39 x 102 in) when unfolded into position for camping. The process of moving it from its towing position to camping position only takes a few minutes.
The snug interior includes a table for two and a couple of chairs which turn into a bed. There’s also a light and windows, with an additional table for preparing food attaching to the exterior.
Available upgrades include going off-the-grid with a solar power package comprising a 47 W panel and battery, plus a picnic package, as well as other minor upgrades.
Obviously you’re not going to be able to live in this thing but it could be a great option for those interested in lowering their carbon footprint and going on low-impact vacations.
