Olympia, Washington-based Zyl Vardos is responsible for some of the most unique-looking tiny houses in the business, as illustrated by the amazing Moon Dragon tiny house. Featuring impressive workmanship and a roofline that looks like it could have been lifted from a fairytale, or maybe a Studio Ghibli movie, the towable home can also run off-the-grid.
The Moon Dragon measures 24 ft (7.3 m)-long and is clad in Onduvilla shingles. Entering via Dutch-style doors, visitors land straight in the living room, which is unfurnished in these photos as the owners hadn’t moved their stuff in yet. The finish looks high quality and materials include mahogany ply walls and cabinets, granite countertops, oak counters and cork floors. The impressive arched ceiling is made from composite cedar tongue and groove.
Moving further into the home, there’s a bathroom, which includes a shower and a neat handmade sink, plus a composting toilet (so that you don’t need to plug this thing into a sewer pipe).
There’s just one bedroom, which is accessed by climbing a staircase with integrated storage. Large closets offer plenty of storage space, and while it’s a typical tiny house bedroom, so though there’s no space to stand up, it does seem relatively spacious.
The Moon Dragon can either get its electricity from a standard RV-style hookup or can run off-the-grid for the freedom to park it and live anywhere thanks to a solar panel kit.
