Utah-based Alpine Tiny Homes’ La Ventana is appropriately named after its oversized glazing (Ventana is Spanish for window) and serves as a full-time home to a family of five. The towable dwelling runs off-the-grid with solar power and has an interesting layout that maximizes available space.
La Ventana measures 32 ft (9.7 m) long and is clad in white metal, with Shou Sugi Ban accenting. There’s a total floorspace of 320 sq ft (29.7 sq m) available.
Inside, the home is centered around a fairly spacious kitchen with drop-down dining table. A bathroom with toilet, sink, and bath/shower, as well as a downstairs master bedroom flank it at either side.
Storage-integrated stairs lead to the main loft bedroom, which has space for two beds, while over on the other side of the home is another smaller loft accessed by ladder that sleeps just one.
La Ventana gets its electricity from a Humless 1.5kW solar power generator and features LED lighting throughout. The home was recently sold for US$80,000 to a couple in Santa Cruz, California.
