Danish firm Vipp decided to dip its toe into the small living movement with the industrial-looking Vipp Shelter. Described as a “battery charging station for humans,” the prefabricated cabin can be installed anywhere, to offer a luxury off-grid retreat away from it all.
The British shed scene is very similar to the tiny house movement, but more focused on DIY hobbyists. Each year a competition called the Shed of the Year aims to find the country’s best and this year’s winner is this mushroom-shaped tiny cabin.
New Frontier Tiny Homes previously impressed us with its luxury Alpha tiny house and now the firm is back with a new model that’s no less focused on living the good life, but also has room for a young family inside. Named the Escher, it includes a home office, walk-in closet, and is wired ready to run off-the-grid with solar power.
Zyl Vardos, the maker of the whimsical Moon Dragon tiny house, has designed another model that boasts similar distinctive lines and dramatic curves. The home also features a very large and unusual window box that ensures plenty of light inside.
Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses is well-known for building larger-than-usual tiny homes but the firm outdid itself with its latest model, the Pemberley. Measuring some 37 ft (11.2 m)-long, it’s home to a military family of five who will travel regularly in it.
