Thanks to improvements in 3D printing technology, we’re now at the point that we can click a mouse button and print a tiny house, in a similar way to how we print out documents. Using such technology, this amazing circular tiny house was built at a cost of just US$10,134.
3D printing company Apis Cor built this home in collaboration with development firm PIK. It measures just 38-sq-m (409-sq-ft).
The unnamed prototype dwelling was built in Russia in late 2016 and then finally completed in mid-2017, however the actual printing process only took 24 hours. Inside it looks great, very clean and liveable, and includes a bathroom, living room, bedroom, and kitchenette.
How it works is, a crane-like machine with a nozzle extrudes layer after layer of cement to eventually print a structure. The machine had some help too, though. The roof, insulation and windows were all added by humans.
The project was built with a relatively lightweight 3D printer that can be transported to a building site on the back of a truck.
